About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Kotlin Backend Consultant to join a global digital transformation initiative with a leading multinational organization. This role offers the opportunity to work on a large-scale, multi-year program focused on building consumer-centric digital platforms and services across multiple markets. As a Backend Consultant, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable backend solutions using Kotlin and related technologies in a cloud-native environment. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, maintainable, and high-performance systems that support business-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Kotlin (Ktor framework) and Java (Spring Boot, Hibernate).
- Architect and implement scalable microservices and serverless solutions on cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, ensure effective monitoring, logging, and observability.
- Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver high-quality, reliable backend systems.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and optimize system performance.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Kotlin development.
- 7+ years of experience in Java backend development.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and exception handling.
- Deep knowledge of core APIs, including collections, streams, and concurrency frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Ktor (3+ years ideally).
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience designing scalable and resilient systems, including APIs and databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring/logging tools (e.g., DataDog).
